so, share time. how crazy were the winds? did any trees in your neighborhood come down? how long were you without power? was it sort of cool?
The wind and rain were not that crazy. The wind was pretty loud, but the damage was much less than the snowstorms this past winter. Only a few big branches down, plus a lot of leaves and detritus. We were out of power for about 22 hours. The whole weekend was just weird. All day Saturday we were waiting, waiting, for this hurricane, not knowing whether it would be no big deal, a medium deal, or huge. It finally came, but we could never tell if it was the peak or not. The lights went out around midnight on Saturday, and being without power till 10 on Sunday night was discombobulating. We actually went to see Rise...Apes on Sunday night, but the beginning was too upsetting for me and we left. The animal cruelty combined with the jitteriness of the weekend combined with leaving Rocky home in the absolute dark . . . I couldn't take it.

AND you are obviously ready to be a dog owner. It'll be so fun---we can dress them up in little Edward and Jacob outfits and put on little Twilight plays!
Makes me think of a cartoon of dogs in Halloween outfits with the caption "and they wonder why we bite?" Eve (but you can bribe them with scented lotion and treats.) Dried beef blood might be appropriate.
