You don't have to post this, I just realized that Rocky was born in the same month you lost Annika and the anniversary of LJ (my name for him). It seems right somehow -like all that love in them was somehow transfered. There is nothing that can love as much as a child or a dog.
Yes, and it takes away a little of the sting that this month has had for me for the last decade. We always have a little birthday celebration for him, and that, along with the workings of time, have taken away the sadness I used to feel this time of year.

He's 9 years old. It doesn't seem possible. But his face is all white and he's definitely looking like an older dog now.
