Wow! I find these very powerful, so fluid but so defined. Can I ask a trivial question--is the third piece on unmounted fabric? Was it painted and then draped? I'm curious about the process because there's such a power about careful informality...
Speaking for Jay here . . . All of these works are on paper. Jay wets the thick, sturdy paper, shapes it into a, um, shape, and then draws on it when dry.
Wow, Jay's work has changed since I last saw it! This is so complex and interesting. Are these pix blakc and white, or are these the colors? I am so glad Jay is still making art!
