Anthony Minghella

Film director Anthony Minghella has just died of postsurgery complications in England. He was only 54. He directed some of my favorite movies: The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley, and Cold Mountain. I read that he just finished filming The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency in Botswana, and he seems like the perfect director for this. I only wish he was going to be around to direct the other books in this series.
